We built beeserene to help you manage OCD, anxiety, and low mood with compassion and privacy. Your mental health data is sensitive, and we treat it that way.
What We Collect
Account Information
- Email address (for login and password recovery)
- Display name (optional)
- Age (optional, helps personalise your experience)
Your Journal & Progress Data
- Urge logs (triggers, intensity, outcomes)
- Reflections and journal entries
- Goals you set and complete
- Mood, sleep, and anxiety tracking
- Photo attachments (if you add them to urge logs)
AI Coach Conversations
- Messages you send to Serene Coach
- AI responses are generated, not stored by the AI provider
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalise the app experience
- To track your progress and show insights
- To send password reset emails (only when you request them)
- To improve Serene Coach responses based on your needs
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted services to make beeserene work:
- OpenAI — Powers Serene Coach. Your messages are sent to OpenAI to generate responses. OpenAI does not train on your data.
- Resend — Sends password reset emails. Only your email address is shared.
- YouTube — Some calming content is embedded from YouTube. When you watch these videos, YouTube may collect viewing data according to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your YouTube viewing history.
We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We never use it for marketing without your consent.
Data Security
- Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit (HTTPS)
- Passwords are securely hashed — we cannot see them
- Access to our servers is restricted and monitored
Your Rights
- Delete your account — Go to Profile, Settings, Danger Zone. This permanently removes all your data.
- Reset your data — Start fresh while keeping your account.
- Export your data — Contact us and we'll provide your data in a readable format.
Children's Privacy
beeserene is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
